About the Artist
Bio
Jim McGee was born in Philadelphia where his interest in art started at an early age. He received a BFA in Illustration from the University of the Arts in 2001 before moving to Salt Lake City to pursue a MFA in painting from the University of Utah. Jim has been a professional artist for over 20 years, exhibiting his work in galleries and museums, as well as receiving numerous commissions, grants, and awards.
In addition to creating art, McGee is an experienced art teacher, teaching all levels of drawing and painting classes including private lessons and Creative Aging workshops. When he’s not making or teaching art, Jim enjoys traveling, biking, being outdoors, and Italian cooking. He currently lives in Holladay, Utah with his son Louie and their pug, Bell.
